At the 22nd Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (Sofia, 28 May 2010), Romania was appointed the Country-Coordinator of the Working Group on Culture as of 1 January 2011 for a period of two years.
Peoples of the Black Sea Region are abundantly rich in cultural heritage for which they have shown eagerness to respect, protect and promote among their nations.
Culture is considered as an underlying force to promote socio-economic sustainable development and contribute to a better wealth and understanding among Black Sea countries. It is driving force to an overall enhancing mutual economic and social cooperation.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
Promoting regional cooperation: cultural intertwining, joint research projects and programs and greater valorization of the heritage are main objectives.
FORMS OF ACTIVITIES
Encouragement, promotion and engagement within BSEC and towards others, fostering a dialogue and collaboration with aim to enhance the awareness of the rich potential; establishing new models of integrated cultural engagement in Black Sea. Main operational tool: Action Plan of the Working Group.
COLLABORATION WITH DIFFERENT INTERNATIONAL AND PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS
Establishing wider international cooperation and promoting regional collaboration in the field of culture.
