Bulgaria is the Country -Coordinator for the Working Group on Science and Technology for the term May 2008 - April 2010
BSEC is focusing its attention to an increasing cooperation. It is a priority area of cooperation since the very establishment of the BSEC Organization, i.e. from 1994. Cooperation in this field among Black Sea countries is considered as a priority area of cooperation.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
Promoting regional cooperation in the field of Science and Technology, putting knowledge to the forefront of its activities, setting up joint research projects and programs and greater valorization of the scientific and technological potential are main objectives of the activities in this field. Integrating in the European programs and projects (Framework Program 7) and developing cooperation among other international organizations are among main objectives of the BSEC Member States.
FORMS OF ACTIVITIES
Promoting science and technology topics among BSEC Member States through institutional forms of activities are the main tools of cooperation. The 4-year BSEC Action Plan on Science and Technology is the main cataliser.
COLLABORATION WITH DIFFERENT INTERNATIONAL AND PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS
Establishing wider international cooperation is a very important goal to BSEC. Cooperation with European Union relevant institutions is considered as a priority.
