The key priorities for BSEC activity in the field of banking and finance are defined by Goal 10 “Closer Cooperation in the field of Banking and Finance” of the BSEC Economic Agenda "Towards a sustainable future of the wider Black Sea area"”, adopted in 2023.
The main activities are carried out by the BSEC Working Group on Banking and Finance in order to promote regional cooperation in the field of banking and finance, which meets at its regular meetings. A fruitful cooperation is developed with the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), a BSEC Related Body. The Working Group focused its activity, in particular, on establishing a sound mechanism for cooperation among the respective authorities of the Member States, as well as on specific initiatives and tools in the field of banking and finance.
The Working Group has on its agenda a number of issues of shared interest to the BSEC Member States, such as: development of financial technologies, promoting development of financial education and the implementation of strategies to improve financial literacy, experience sharing on national digital currencies, and etc.
