Today, we celebrate the Black Sea International Action Day, a vital and precious resource for our region. I call on all BSEC Member States and all countries that share its vast watershed to work together to promote regional peace and stability, preserve a healthy and balanced environment for future generations, comply with all international obligations and harness the potential of ecosystem services to create value and wealth for the region.
Since the signature of the Black Sea Strategic Action Plan in 1996, the Black Sea unfortunately still remains one of the most polluted seas in Europe. BSEC is sparing no efforts to protect and rehabilitate it through bringing together all relevant stakeholders and implementation of relevant environmental projects.
